Hangzhou Asian Games: 11 “Little Green Lotus” from Tibet Take up Volunteer Service Positions The 19th Asian Games officially commenced on September 23. The reporter has learned that 37,600 volunteers have started their assignments and begun serving the Games. Among them, 11 volunteers are from Seni District, Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region. After arriving at the Linping Sports Center, a venue for the Hangzhou Asian Games, they started familiarizing themselves with the relevant aspects of the event. “The volunteers range in age from 24 to 35. Due to the paired support relationship between Nagqu and Hangzhou, we have the opportunity to volunteer in Hangzhou Asian Games. We hope to fully utilize strengths and repay the friends who have helped our hometown.” said Drolma Lhatso, Head of the Tibet Seni Service Team for Hangzhou Asian Games Volunteers. After undergoing rigorous training, 11 volunteers utilized their work experience and ethnic advantages to secure suitable positions. According to Drolma Lhatso, the volunteers for the Hangzhou Asian Games are collectively referred to as “l(fā)ittle green lotus”, which phonetically and affectionately symbolizes the warmth of their smiles. With the grace of the snow-covered plateau, 11 Tibetan “Little Green Lotus” went to Zhejiang with a profound sense of responsibility and honor. Alongside volunteers from all over the country, they tirelessly promote the spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress,” striving to fulfill voluntary services and serve as ambassadors for cultural exchange. |
